*Boria Art Brightens 68th National Day Celebration*

On the occasion of 68th National Day, students were exposed to the uniqueness of Boria’s art through fun and meaningful Malay learning activities.

🎬 Activity started with a video showing of Boria’s performance.

✍️ Students later created “Mini Boria Script” themed with the spirit of patriotism.

🎤 Pronunciation, intonation, rhythm and presentation practice done with great enthusiasm.

🎭 The performance was also horrified with props such as umbrellas, manggar flowers, flags and traditional clothes of the Malaysian Society.

Objektif aktiviti ini:

1. Cultivating students’ interest towards Malay Language through cultural art.

2. Improving language proficiency and self confidence through creative expression.

Boria is not just entertainment, but a heritage that empowers the identity and national spirit of the younger generation! Thank you also to Mr Muhammad Danial Syamim from IPG Students Penang Campus as Boria trainer this time.

Boria is a traditional performing art derived from Penang that combines elements of drama, poetry recitation, singing and dance, often with humor, everyday life or patriotic themes. Opening rap by a Tukang Karang, introducing the theme, and then a group of performers unfolds the story through poetry and song. Accompanied by traditional instruments such as drums, etc, the rhythm is cheerful. Formation is dressed in bright traditional costumes with national or state flags, umbrellas, decorative flowers (bunga manggar) etc for visual effects.
